Nick Buckley joined the Skills Company on a traineeship to improve his maths and English and general employability. Since a young age Nick had always wanted to work with cars, but a bad experience with an employer had knocked his confidence.
Staff at the Skills Company’s Salford Training Centre noticed Nick’s low confidence and difficulty in remembering details. The Skills Company placed Nick with a supportive employer, Neil Hughes Car and Body in Irlam, as an apprentice. The placement helped build his confidence and he is now committed to his training, traveling for over an hour each day to attend the Training Centre.
